Help & FAQ
How long will my order take to arrive?
Most orders arrive within 7 to 11 business days. That includes 2 to 3 business days to prepare and check your fixture, plus 5 to 8 business days in transit. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. Deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii and US territories may take 3 to 5 business days longer.
Do I need an electrician to install this?
Hardwired fixtures such as pendants, chandeliers, sconces and flush mounts should be installed by a licensed electrician. Installation typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. Plug-in lamps and plug-in sconces require no wiring and can be used straight out of the box. Each product page states which type the fixture is.
What does color temperature mean in lighting?
Color temperature describes the color of the light, not its brightness, and is measured in Kelvin. A value around 2700K produces warm, slightly golden light similar to late afternoon sun or a traditional incandescent bulb. Values of 4000K and above produce the cooler white light typically found in offices and garages. Warmer values are generally preferred in living rooms and bedrooms.
How many lumens do I need to light a room?
Brightness is measured in lumens and is listed on every product page. As a general guide, a bedside lamp needs 400 to 800 lumens, a living room needs 1,500 to 3,000 lumens across all light sources combined, and a kitchen needs 3,000 to 4,000 lumens. A single fixture rarely lights an entire room well. Most rooms look best with three or four separate light sources at different heights.
Is a light bulb included with the fixture?
Bulb inclusion is stated on each product page. Where a bulb is included, it is matched to the fixture and to its intended color temperature. Where a bulb is not included, the product page lists the correct bulb base and the maximum wattage the fixture supports.
Are your fixtures dimmable?
Dimmability is stated on each product page. If you are pairing a fixture with an existing dimmer switch, check that the dimmer is rated for LED bulbs. Older dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs are the most common cause of flickering or buzzing, and replacing the dimmer usually resolves it.
What size pendant light do I need above a dining table?
As a general rule, the diameter of the fixture should be roughly half to two thirds the width of the table. Hang it 30 to 36 inches above the tabletop. Above a kitchen island, space multiple pendants 24 to 30 inches apart and keep them 30 to 36 inches above the counter surface.
How high should a pendant light hang in an entryway or hallway?
Leave at least 7 feet of clearance between the floor and the bottom of the fixture in any space people walk through. In a stairwell or a double height entryway, hang the fixture so its lowest point sits level with the second floor landing.
Can I return a fixture if it does not suit my room?
Items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, provided they have not been permanently installed and are in their original condition and packaging. Return shipping on a change of mind return is paid by the customer. No restocking fee applies. Full details are set out in our refund policy.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
Report any damage within 7 days of delivery by email, including your order number and photographs of the item and the outer packaging. We will send a replacement or issue a full refund at no cost to you. Keep the packaging until the claim is resolved, as the carrier may require it for inspection.
What does the warranty cover?
Every fixture is covered for 1 year from the date of delivery against manufacturing defects, including wiring, sockets and premature finish failure. The warranty does not cover damage caused by installation, consumable items such as bulbs, or normal wear over time.
Can you help me choose the right fixture?
Yes. Send us a photograph of the room, the ceiling height and a note on how the space is used, and we will suggest two or three fixtures that fit the space. If nothing in our range is a good match, we will say so.
